Regulatory readiness for European financial services

Closing CSRD readiness gaps for a German state bank and shortening DORA, EU AI Act and Data Act sign-off cycles through policies and guardrails built into delivery.

The mandate

European regulation on sustainability reporting, operational resilience, AI and data arrived in quick succession. Financial institutions had to become compliant while continuing to modernise, and could not afford for every new initiative to wait in a review queue.

What I did

  • Sequenced the work. Built a phased 12–18 month roadmap to CSRD readiness for a German state bank.
  • Put guardrails in place. Implemented policies and guardrails for DORA, the EU AI Act and the EU Data Act, compliant with ISO 27001, ISO 42001 and NIS2.
  • Made compliance part of delivery. Designed assessments so teams could get to sign-off faster, with fewer loops.

What changed

CSRD readiness gaps fell by 60–80%, and assessment and sign-off cycles for the new regulations shortened by 25–40%.

60–80% Reduction in CSRD readiness gaps
25–40% Shorter assessment and sign-off cycles
12–18 mo Phased roadmap horizon
